The rate on the screen is rarely the rate in the pocket.
A mid-market rate — sometimes called the true or interbank mid — sits between the best bid and the best offer. Retail desks sell you a worse number and call it the rate. This site is a desk that names that gap: spread, markup, official fix, real exchange rate, and the difference between a currency booth and a designated contract market. True Exchange does not convert money, open accounts or run an order book. For history: trueEX LLC of New York was a CFTC Designated Contract Market for interest-rate swaps; it stopped trading on 19 July 2019. That firm lived at trueex.com, not here.
